Dr. Steve Drew (He Zhu) is Chief Architecture and Security Officer at BitOcean Global. He is also Founder of BitQubic. He was a Senior Cloud Engineer at Cisco NFV Group.

Dr. Drew received his B.Sc. from Beijing Jiaotong University in 2008 and M.Sc. from Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2011. He received his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carleton University in 2018. Dr. Drew has a broad research interest in edge computing, cloud-native initiatives towards network services and blockchain services.

  • [Feb 2020] On Feb 28, 2020, Dr. Drew had an invited talk at ME4359, Carleton University with the title “Containers, Kubernetes and Edge Computing”. The audience include both forth-year undergraduate students and graduate students. Credit to Prof. Chung-Horng Lung for the invitation and organization.

  • [Nov 2019] Our paper “Shoreline: Data-Driven Threshold Estimation of the Online Reserves of Cryptocurrency Trading Platforms” has been accepted to the Thirty-Fourth AAAI Conference on Artificial Intelligence (AAAI-20) for oral presentation. This paper is in collaboration with Prof. Jiayu Zhou’s Illidan Lab from Michigan State University.

  • [Oct 2019] BitQubic has partnered with Prof. Changcheng Huang from Carleton University to conduct research on extensible and reliable edge computing infrastructure powered by blockchain and container orchestration technologies. This partnership has received funding awards from NSERC.
